On the educational sham.
The problem with the educational system worldwide is that it makes students base their sense of self-worth on how well they do academically, which takes advantage of a system that bases your performance on standardized numbers and letter grades. Intelligence is, like art - completely subjective. Yet you hardly ever see schools promoting student growth and ability outside the “academic” (purportedly) realm, which is what truly matters for us as individuals. Instead, what with the monstrous, growing pressure on academic performance, many find themselves - even subconsciously - completely dependent on meeting academic standards and expectations to deem themselves worthy, when in fact the only worth that is, is in the simple ability to cram or memorize formulas at three in the morning before the exam, not your ability to think for yourself, to make change, to create something beautiful, to do art, to speak up for yourself, to make the world a better place - the only sense of individual worth that’s worth recognizing. By instead promoting high honour rolls and national merit scholarships (based on a system that’s not even truly standardized - a sham at its best) schools are implanting completely wrong (shameful, even) ideas into our youth, born into a world that’s already fucked up enough with its inhumane expectations of what is right and wrong to be.
The educational system is a crock of shit.
